Every LinkedIn image size in one table: pixels, aspect ratio, max file size and file types for 17 formats, each linked to the LinkedIn Help or ads page it came from. Checked October 2026.
Official means the platform's own help, developer or ads page. Secondary means Sprout Social, Hootsuite or Buffer, used only where the platform publishes no number or blocks automated reads. Each mark links to its source.

LinkedIn post image size in 2026
LinkedIn Help sets the rules for photos in posts: at least 552 x 276 pixels, with 1080 pixels wide recommended, an aspect ratio between 3:1 and 4:5, and a 5 MB limit per photo. Images wider than 3:1 are centered and cropped. You can add up to 20 photos to one post, and LinkedIn accepts JPEG, PNG, GIF and WEBP.
In practice that gives you three safe shapes at 1080 wide: 1080 x 1080 square, 1080 x 1350 portrait (4:5, the tallest LinkedIn allows) and a landscape image no wider than 3:1. Multi-image posts render inside a 4:5 frame. Whatever shape you pick, keep key text away from the edges.
LinkedIn image size for your profile, cover and Page
Profile photo: between 400 x 400 and 7680 x 4320 pixels, up to 8 MB, JPG or PNG. GIFs are not supported.
Profile background (cover): 1584 x 396 pixels recommended, JPG or PNG, under 8 MB. To build one at the right size, use the LinkedIn banner maker.
Company Page logo: 400 x 400 recommended, 268 x 268 minimum, PNG or JPEG up to 3 MB.
Company Page cover: 1512 x 256 pixels, PNG or JPEG up to 3 MB. Many guides still list 1128 x 191 or 4200 x 700; LinkedIn Help now says 1512 x 256.
Group cover: 1776 x 444 recommended.
Documents, articles, events and link previews
Document posts (carousels): PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC or DOCX, up to 100 MB and 300 pages, one document per post. Every page must be the same size. Outlines for the slides are in our LinkedIn carousel templates.
Article and newsletter cover: 1920 x 1080 is optimal, and covers are cropped to 16:9. GIFs are no longer allowed as covers.
Event cover: 16:9 is required, at least 480 pixels wide, for example 1280 x 720.
Link preview image: LinkedIn reads the page's og:image. It should be at least 1200 x 627 pixels at 1.91:1 and no more than 5 MB. Test a link with the LinkedIn post inspector.
The table also covers single image ads, carousel ads, video, GIF limits, newsletter logos and the Career Pages image, with the same detail. Need to resize something you already have? The LinkedIn image resizer crops it to any of these sizes in your browser.
Right size, right post
A sharp image stops the scroll. The post under it decides whether anyone follows you. That part is what VoiceMoat is for: it learns your voice from your own LinkedIn content, and audenAI drafts the post that goes with your image, so the words sound like you and not like a caption generator.
