What a LinkedIn carousel actually is

On LinkedIn, a carousel is a document post. You upload a file and LinkedIn shows its pages as slides people swipe through. LinkedIn Help lists the rules: PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC or DOCX, up to 100 MB and 300 pages, one document per post, and every page the same size. PDF is the safest choice, because the layout you export is the layout people see.

LinkedIn does not publish one required page size. Pick a shape, keep every slide identical, and export at a size that stays sharp on a phone.

Why outlines beat design templates

Most LinkedIn carousel templates you will find are design files: fonts, colors and empty boxes. They make a carousel look finished. They do not tell you what goes on slide three. That is where most carousels fail: a strong cover, then slides that repeat it or wander off. Good design cannot rescue a slide that has nothing to say.

These templates are outlines. Each one gives every slide a single job, so the cover makes a promise, the middle delivers it one idea at a time, and the last slide tells people what to do next. Once the outline is filled, any design tool can make it look good.

How to use these LinkedIn carousel templates

  • Choose by goal. Teach a process, bust myths, show a result, give a checklist, share a framework, warn about mistakes, recommend resources, tell a story, present data, compare options, share templates or show your team.

  • Fill the outline in a plain doc first. One idea per slide, as few words as it takes.

  • Make the cover promise one specific result. It is the slide everyone sees, so it decides whether anyone swipes.

  • Number your slides when order matters, so readers know how far they have to go.

  • Design at one size. Every page in a document post must be the same size.

  • Export a PDF and check it on your phone before you post.

  • Write a caption that stands alone. Some people will read the post and never swipe.

Want the slides laid out for you? The LinkedIn carousel generator turns an outline into slides. For image and file limits, see the LinkedIn image size guide.

The caption matters as much as the slides

A carousel gets the swipe. The caption above it gets the follow, and it is often the part people rush. VoiceMoat learns your voice from your own LinkedIn content, and audenAI drafts the caption post in that voice, so the words around your slides sound like you. For other post shapes, the LinkedIn post templates cover career news, lessons and launches, and Studio handles the rest.
