The LinkedIn banner size is 1584 x 396 pixels, and your profile photo covers part of it. This maker shows exactly where, so your text stays visible. Add a background, a line about what you do, and download.
JPG, PNG or WEBP. It stays in your browser.
No watermark. LinkedIn takes JPG or PNG up to 8 MB for this cover, and says how it looks can change with the browser window and screen.
Visitors check your recent posts right after your banner. audenAI drafts LinkedIn posts in your voice from your own content, so there is always something recent.

LinkedIn banner size in 2026
Personal profile cover: 1584 x 396 pixels recommended, JPG or PNG, under 8MB.
Company Page cover: 1512 x 256 pixels, both minimum and recommended, PNG or JPEG up to 3MB.
Company Page logo: 400 x 400 pixels recommended, 268 x 268 minimum.
No GIFs. LinkedIn does not support GIFs for profile or background photos.
Those numbers come from LinkedIn's own help pages, checked in October 2026. The Page cover size changed: many guides still list 1128 x 191 or 4200 x 700, so if an old template looks wrong on your Page, that is why.
Where your profile photo covers the banner
On desktop, your profile photo sits over the lower-left of the banner. ManyPixels measured it at roughly x 56 to 360 and y 212 to the bottom edge of a 1584 x 396 banner, shown on screen at 792 x 198 with nothing trimmed. Anything you put in that corner is hidden.
The phone app lays the profile out differently, and LinkedIn says your cover can look different depending on window size and screen resolution. Treat the left third and the outer edges as risky, keep your main line in the center or center-right, and check the result on your own phone after you upload.
For company Pages, LinkedIn's own advice is to keep key details away from the edges of the cover, especially the lower-right corner.
What to put on a LinkedIn banner
One line about what you do or who you help. It sits right beside your face. Make it say something your headline does not.
Proof, if you have it. A book, a podcast, a product, a newsletter name.
Not much else. A clean background and one line beat a collage, because the banner shows small on most screens.
A light call to action. "New posts every Tuesday" works. A full URL is hard to read at that size and cannot be clicked.
Fixing a blurry or cropped banner
Blurry banners are usually upscaled: an image narrower than 1584 pixels stretched to fit. Start at full size, which this maker does. Cropped text is usually the profile photo or a phone trimming the edges, which is what the overlay is for. After upload, LinkedIn lets you crop, reposition, resize and rotate the cover, so small fixes do not need a new file.
The banner sets the promise. Your posts keep it.
A banner that says "I help founders hire their first 10 engineers" makes a promise. The visitor then scrolls to your activity to check it. If your last post is from March, the promise falls flat. VoiceMoat keeps that part moving: audenAI learns from your own content and drafts LinkedIn posts in your voice, so your activity backs up your banner. Round out the profile with the LinkedIn headline generator, the LinkedIn photo editor and the LinkedIn image size guide, then see Studio.
