Shows the card preview

Twitter took the preview out of its own Card Validator in 2022, so this shows the card from the same tags Twitter reads. Twitter keeps card data for up to 7 days, so a fix can take a while to show.

Card checked. Now give people a reason to stop.

audenAI drafts the post that carries your link, in your voice, so the card is not the only thing worth reading.

What happened to the official Twitter card validator

For years, cards-dev.twitter.com/validator showed exactly how a link would look in a post. On August 2, 2022, Twitter announced it had removed that preview, because it did not always match how cards displayed across apps. Its advice: start a new post, paste the link into the composer, and the card appears without posting. The old page stayed only for logs and for submitting new domains. When we checked in October 2026, the validator address sent us straight to Twitter's login page, and the cards pages have dropped off Twitter's current developer docs site.

So a Twitter card validator today has two jobs: confirm your tags are right, and show you the card those tags produce, without opening the composer. That is what this one does.

The tags Twitter reads, and its fallbacks

  • twitter:card picks the layout: summary or summary_large_image. It is the one tag Open Graph cannot replace.

  • twitter:title, up to 70 characters. Falls back to og:title.

  • twitter:description, up to 200 characters. Falls back to og:description.

  • twitter:image, under 5 MB, in JPG, PNG, WEBP or GIF (first frame only). SVG is not supported. Falls back to og:image.

  • twitter:image:alt, up to 420 characters, for people using screen readers. Falls back to og:image:alt.

  • twitter:site, the @username of the website, and twitter:creator for the author.

The fallbacks are the useful part. If your page already has good Open Graph tags, one extra line, twitter:card, is often all you need for the large card.

Summary card or large image card

  • summary: a 1:1 image, at least 144 x 144, cropped to a square.

  • summary_large_image: a 2:1 image, at least 300 x 157 and at most 4096 x 4096.

How the large card looks has changed too. A late 2023 redesign dropped the headline and description from link cards. In January 2024 a short title came back, laid over the image, with the site name underneath. The description did not return. Put the point of the page in the image and the title. Sizes for everything else are in the Twitter image size guide.

Why your Twitter card is not showing

  • No card type: no twitter:card, and not enough Open Graph tags to fall back on.

  • The crawler is blocked: Twitter's crawler identifies itself as Twitterbot and follows robots.txt. Blocking it hides your card.

  • The image cannot be fetched: it is not public, or it is over 5 MB.

  • The page is too heavy: Twitter's crawler stops at 2 MB of page response.

  • Twitter has an old copy: it re-reads card tags roughly every seven days. Twitter's docs suggest adding a unique parameter to the URL for a fresh read, and to the image URL if the image changed.

Sharing the same link on LinkedIn? The link preview checker shows both cards from one check.

The card earns the click. The post has to earn the stop.

Nobody sees your card unless they pause on the post first. That is the part VoiceMoat works on. audenAI, the brain inside VoiceMoat, learns from your own content and drafts Twitter posts and threads in your voice, so the post carrying your link sounds like you and not like an auto-share.
