Twitter's search box understands far more than its Advanced search form shows. This Twitter advanced search builder turns plain choices into the exact query: accounts, dates, minimum likes, replies, media, language. Copy it, or open it straight on Twitter. Free, in your browser.
Opens Twitter's own search in a new tab. Twitter search needs you to be logged in.
The VoiceMoat extension drafts replies right inside Twitter, in your voice, so you can join the conversations you just found without starting from a blank box.

Plain choices in, a working query out.
What Twitter advanced search can do
Twitter's help center describes Advanced search as a form for words, people, places and dates. It works when you are logged in, and Twitter says it can find posts from any date since the first public post. Behind the form sits a query language of search operators such as from: and since:. The form only shows some of them. This builder covers the ones that still work in 2026 and writes the syntax for you, so a typo never silently breaks a search.
Twitter search operators that still work
Words: words separated by spaces (all must appear), "exact phrase", OR in capitals, -word to exclude, #hashtag, $cashtag, and lang:en for language.
Accounts: from:handle for posts by an account, to:handle for replies to it, @handle for mentions, and list: for members of a public list.
Dates: since:2026-01-01 means on or after. until:2026-02-01 means before, not including that day. within_time:2d gives a rolling window.
Engagement: min_faves:, min_retweets: and min_replies: set a minimum. A minus in front, like -min_faves:50, sets a maximum.
Post type: filter:replies or -filter:replies, filter:quote, filter:self_threads for an author's own threads, and conversation_id: for every reply in a thread.
Media and links: filter:media, filter:images, filter:videos, filter:links, and url:domain.com for posts linking to a site.
Operators that are shaky or gone
Location: near:, within: and geocode: still parse, but few posts carry a location now, so results are thin.
Reposts and polls: filter:nativeretweets and card_name: only reach back about a week.
Verified: filter:verified behaves inconsistently since verification became paid. filter:blue_verified is the clearer choice.
Gone: filter:vine and filter:periscope only find old posts, because both services shut down.
Twitter does not publish an official operator list. Ours comes from Twitter's help center, a long-running community reference on GitHub, and 2026 guides that test operators, and we drop anything that stops working.
Searches worth saving
Your best posts ever: from:yourhandle min_faves:100. Then study why they worked with the viral tweet analyzer.
Who shares your site: url:yoursite.com -from:yourhandle.
Conversations to join: "your topic" min_replies:10 -filter:replies within_time:1d.
Search tweets by date: from:handle since:2025-01-01 until:2025-02-01 for one month of someone's posts.
If your own posts never show up in search, that is a different problem: our shadowban checker tests exactly that. To judge whether an account you found is worth engaging with, the engagement rate calculator helps.
