Turn this into a thread

Why use it

Threads fail in two ways. Either they are an article chopped into tweet-sized pieces, so no single tweet is worth reading, or a small idea stretched to eleven tweets because the writer thought longer meant better.

What it does

It first decides whether this should be a thread at all, then writes the spine as one line per beat, then writes tweets that each survive being read alone, formatted with the three-dash separator that chains them.
