Why use it

Ending advice comes from long-form writing, where a post has room to build and a committed reader. A tweet has neither. A weak final line is more common than a weak opening here, because openings get attention and endings get added.

What it does

It runs the delete test before it analyses anything: read the tweet without the last line, and if that reads better or the same, the job is done. Only if removing it genuinely loses something does it go on to name what the line was doing, and it is honest that the three cases where an ending earns its place are narrower than people think.

What it will not do

It will not promise replies, and it will not write engagement bait. A line that produces replies by obliging people is not the same as a line worth replying to.
